Physics projects
Well the actual lab part of physics projects is fun, but sadly they are always followed by reports and graphs and written work. I wish we could simply do the project to understand how things work without having to lose all interest in the subject by having to follow the lab or project with boring written work. I believe that if we were to perform an experiment to see how things work (with formulas required and such) then we would learn a lot more about physics then about how to write a paper.
Concrete
What I would do for a concrete skate park around here. A nicely built one with copings and pools smooth enough to glide on. A place where one can truly shred. Curved bowls and quarter pipes that can be carved like a wave on a surf board. A wave that is there even on days without wind. No sharks to watch out for, just a harder fall. It's not a problem if someone steals your wave, because it is still there. Or if you fall, you can go right back to it. But wait, there is more. Pyramids and rails, banks and ledges. All made out of concrete. Old school, new school, and to top it all off a stair set. A nice set of maybe 7 stairs with a handrail. Two hubbas on either side. I can almost taste the park. If only there was one around here. I guess I can settle for the plastic one we have.

RAIN
It's supposed to rain this entire weekend so my hopes are beginning to disappear. I planned on doing some skateboarding, maybe washing my car, going to the beach, but all of these things are ruined by rain. I wish we could take all the extra rain we don't need and use it to fertalize the soil in countries where people are starving so they can grow their own food and not make me feel like a jerk when I see the commercials they are in. But rain is the real jerk.
Anyways, I can't think of much to do on a rainy weekend. I can only watch so many movies before I get bored. Going to the mall maybe? Or maybe I'll just resort to drugs unless someone can come up with good plans for me. Ill be waiting for responses!

Big big project
So this big project that Mrs.Stoklosa gave us has me both exited and scared. I'm exited because I have the opportunity to do a giant presentation on something I love and know about, but I'm scared because I am putting 700 points on the line. I ask myself, "what if my project isn't good enough?" "what if she was looking for something different?" I guess i'm just going to try my best to do it right. I think I will really enjoy doing this project so even if my grade is bad, I'll end up getting something out of it. I can't wait to get started and present. I have a feeling this one will be my favorite project this semester.

Tours
Why is it that some of my favorite bands tour all around the world even around the nation but very rarely come to Florida? What is left of the Grateful Dead is touring around the U.S and the closest place to Florida that they are going to is North Carolina. Iron Maiden came recently for the first time in thirteen YEARS. They go to Brazil more than they come here and we are way closer to England that Brazil is. Now I'm not saying that no good bands play in Florida, just that it does not happen very often. Led Zeppelin was touring, I believe, untill Robert Plant decided he did not want to or something close to that, but they were never going to be anywhere near Florida. Do good bands not like our weather? We will provide a plan with A.C if that's what it takes, that's a promise.
Pools
They just don't make them like they used to. Pools used to have nice rounded walls that could be carved when empty, but now there is a 90 degree angle between the wall and the floor. Is this another sad attempt to reduce people from skateboarding? I have no idea. But what I do know is that I will never get the chance to feel the thrill of sneaking into someone's back yard when their pool is empty and they are not home and tearing it up. The most I will ever get to do is skate one at a park, which is great, but simply not the same. It's like designated camping spots with water fossits and electrical outlets. If anybody knows of a pool that can be skated (meaning that there is a nice round transition between the floor of the pool and the walls) I would be more than happy to be your friend.

Ok so I don't have a twitter and I have never seen one, but from what I hear it is basically a way to let people know what you are doing all the time. I might be wrong, but it seems to me like people use it more to know what celebrities are doing 24/7. All I ever hear is how this celebirty is doing this and this one is doing that. "Tara Ried is throwing up!" "Paris is making another tape!" Are we really so obsessed with celebrities that we are checking what they do every hour of the day? I mean there's nothing wrong with having an idol, maybe a celebrity you look up to (depending on who it is but that's just my opinion) but we are all starting to play the role of the camera man of a reality show. We have to know every move celebrities make. If you ask me, this is going to increase childhood obesity because rather going out and maybe playing sports or excercising, kids are checking what celebrities are up to. I am not an enemy of technology and the internet like some of those "traditional folks," I guess I can call them that. But this is just abusing the benefits.

Happy monday
Well the weekend is over and now I'm in school. Monday's not so bad, right? I sure do hope so. I'm waiting to see how it goes. I had what I like to call a Butteryass weekend, and I'm hoping the upcoming week is just as buttery. Anyways, back to Mondays. What can we do to make them better. Maybe treat ourselves to a nicer meal than we normally would? Up to you. If you are reading this and it is no longer Monday, give yourself a pat on the back, you made it through hopefully in one piece. Mondays can be pretty rough, it's true. It is the day when hungry hounds chase you on your way home, you forgot your house key, and you have to stay in a tree until the dog's owner comes out and yells at you for startling he pooches. I somehow make it out alive every week. How? I would tell you but I myself don't know. You just gotta wing it as you go. Have no fear, Friday is almost here.

Take your child to work day
As we all know, once a year on "take your child to work day," children can be excused from school to go work with their parents. This year I was ready to go make some money with my dad and buy that shirt I found on Ebay. However, my teachers decided that on this early release day, class will be more imprtant than on normal school days. Test reviews, assignments due, the list goes on. Now, teachers know that few kids are even going to show up, so why would they try to damage their grades in such a way? Pure evil if you ask me. This right here is all the proof needed to show that religion is true, and that there is a devil, because this is a vile act that no human soul could do without the tempations of lucifer. It is too late now.....wow what a stupid blog

High speed chase videos
Every now and then on chanels like truTV, Spike, or other "extreme stuff" channels we see an entire show about high speed police chases. I don't think I am the only one who thinks that these videos are no longer entertaining. Even though most of have an interesting crash at the end, the rest of the video from that bird's eye view shot with the police chopper is nothing but cars moving in a straight line. Now, I absolutely understand from the point of view of the cops that a chase is always exhilirating and requires amazing amounts of skill to stop chase and avoid anybody being hurt, it just is not entertaining to see it for half an hour from a different point of view, and without having that feeling of adrenalyn obtained from being in the action. Instead of these videos, I think cameras should be placed on animals around the wild in order for us to have more "when animals attack" videos, which simply do not get old.

Observe and report
Well after a while, I finally went to the movies. One movie I saw was "Obsterve and Report," and let me just say how funny it was. On a scale of 1-10 I give it an 11. A lot of the jokes in the movie are so unexpected that you jump with laughter the way you would jump with fear in a horror movie. There was not one serious part in the entire movie. Anything you thought was going to be serious turns funny. I reccomend this to anybody, especially anyone who is feeling down and needs to cheer up. It will cost you $9 but you know you are tired of feeling the way you do, so go watch the movie. You will not go more than 2 minutes without laughing. Only word of advice is use the bathroom before the movie.
Spring break
I can't imagine how many people have posted bulletins about their break but I had to do one just for shnits and giggles. I did go to beach a lot, which was not common for me up untill now. With my friends, we don't just go to the beach. We look for bridges to jump off of into water. So far we have only found two around the area but they are gnarly. One of them you can jump right over the railing and into the water. You are in the air for so long that it almost seems like one of those dreams where you are falling off a giant cliff (if you have not had that dream then sorry just imagine it). The only down side is that you land in a canal, which makes it a bit hard to climb back up. It's do-able, but the floor by the wall where you climb out is sharp and I did cut both of my feet. The other bridge is pretty big. Biggest that we have done SO FAR. The railing is too high to jump over, so you have to climb it, tand on it, and then jump. It's a pretty crazy experience. Anybody who wants to come next time feel free just ask me about it or something. The more people the better. Other than that I did some skateboarding, but not too much since I had a bit of a back injury at the time. I also hung out with some old buddies that I had not seen for a while and am now keeping in touch with them. Anyways that sums up most of my break.

IRON MAIDEN 2
Well I went to Maiden yesterday, and I can't even begin to describe how amazing it was. I had a perfect view, even from very far away. I'm surprised I still have a voice today. Although I sat next to some boring people, I was up and cheering. Two Eddies were there, Satan was there, even Steve Hariss's daughter was there. She and her band were the opening act. I thought they were not very good, probably because I was looking forward to hear Maiden, not them. They played almost every song I could possible ask to hear. All except killers, but that's OK because the show was amazing. I can only say sorry to the ones who could not make it. =[

My technological advance
Well, it finally happened. No longer am I limited to play my nintendo 64 (not that I had a problem with that), because I got a Wii. It was a confirmation present for me and my sister, and we love it. I only have Wii fit and sports right now, but I have a lot of fun with them. especially Wii sports. I love the boxing game the most, probably because it is the game that makes me look the most stupid as I do it, and looking stupid is a hobby of mine as long as it gets the job done. I gotta dodge punches, you know. I can't just take all that damage. Well if there are any games you want to reccommend, please let me know.

The sham-wow guy

Most of us have seen the sham-wow commercial, right? We have this guy on meth advertizing a towel that is suposed to dry better than other towels. This is maybe the most stupid blog I have ever posted, but I simply cannot get the commercial off my mind. This is the type of guy that caused the invention of restraining orders. He talks extremely fast, and has facial expressions to go along. I wonder if Billy Mays is with him or agaisnt him. It would be funny to see them fight. Billy Mays outweighs sham-wow guy, but consider sham-wow guy is high on meth all the time he might win. Like I said, my dumbest blog.

Sunburn
So this sunday I went to the beach, which I don't do very often. However, I am starting to enjoy it alot when I go with friends. I had a great time, but of course there was a down side. My back, shoulders, and parts of my arms and chest feel like they are on fire. I put sunblock on but I guess it rubbed off in the water. This blog is not just about me complaining about my sunburn. It is like a warning, that sunburn is for real. Put on sunscreen and do it right. When your skin is so sensitive that scratching your head makes you groan, you will think the same way I do. Please, for your own sake, wear sunscreen if you are pale like me. I would hate to see anybody else in this situation. We all enjoy sleep, right? Got some news for ya. Not going to happen. And people most likey WILL slap your back, just for fun. The list goes on. Please don't make my mistakes.

An old pal named Devin
About 2 years ago, in a place that some of my friends and I used to go to and have campfires, we met a character. His name was Devin, and he was homeless. He had stumbled upon our fire spot and found it to be a great place for a homeless man to stay. He said he had no problem staying there because "he was raised country," according to him. Now this was not your average everyday homeless guy ( everyday depending on where you live of course). He simply did not have a home because of some problems he had with his fiance's parents. He was always out looking for jobs. He also washed his clothes and himself in the nearest public showers he could find. He told some interesting stories, some very hard to believe, but we didn't care. We had great times sitting around the fire with him, listening and telling all sorts of stories and giving each other's meanings to life and advice. I do miss having him around. He moved to Wisconsin and lives with his brother now. I would like to one day see him again, and have just one more campfire to sit around.

A day without gobstoppers
I sit here today with a raincloud over me
Lifting my head up is quite a tough task
For I'm missing something so special, you see
I lack my gobstoppers, in case you were to ask
The first one I pop brings light to my eyes
Brings a smile to my face and color to my world
But without it with me my spirit can't fly
How I wish I could taste that sweet colorful swirl
I sit here and wonder, with time going by
How is it that emptiness fills up my gut
I don't really care, I'm not going to try
For without gobstoppers my mind is simply shut
I mourn in my head which I constantly smack
Why did is wallet behind a door shut with locks
My viewpoint is much like those addicted to crack
Now that I don't have my yellow gobstoppers box.

Circas

Last weekend, a buddy of mine offered me a pair of brand new shoes, my size, for a very good price. Since the shoes I was wearing were pretty torn up, I took the offer. Little did I know that the pair of shoes I just baught is one of the best I have ever owned. They are high top Circas and I absolutely love them. They have great grip on the bottom for skateboarding, very comftrable, and the high top keeps me from rolling my ankles. My entire style of skateboarding has changed and improved. There is a connection between me and my board once again. I have more control. This is the first time I ever ride Circas and I highly recommend them to everybody who skates.

Staying sane
A great day for me to make it through the day without wanting to put a gun in my mouth is going straight to the weston regional skatepark the second that school ends. After sitting in an uncomftrable desk for 8 hours or so, I need to let some energy out. I only stay for about 40 minutes or so, but it is a great way to relieve ''stress" for me. I start with my normal warmup, and then move on to trying harder tricks or new tricks. It helps me take my mind off of other crap that might be bothering me whether it be from school at home, or a combination of the two. It's good exercise for both body and mind. If by the end of the day you feel the blood pumping through your temples on the sides of your head, I suggest trying something like this. Whatever it is you enjoy, for just a little while right after school is done. Stay safe.

Mind Field

Skateboarding team Alien Workshop has recently come out with a new video called Mind Field. This video was extremely well made. Not only was it well edited with lots of artsy scenes, but the skating in it was amazing. There were plenty of good skaters, but the one that left me speechless was Arto Saari. This man has taken the use of handrails to a completely new level. He can balance on them better than a hockey player on the ice (not really but you get my point). The size of the rails that this man is hitting up would make most skaters pee their pants, and on top of that, there is the level of dificulty of the trick he does on the rail. Lots of skaters skate big rails, but I have never seen someone skate rails this big AND do tricks this dificult on them. I recomend everybody to watch Arto's new part as well as the rest of the video. Thank you and good night!

Dr.Dog part 2
Well I saw Dr.Dog, and I had a great time. Although I did not get to heard the band too well due to the quality of the sound where it took place, I thought all bands were great. It happened at the Culture Room, and it was my first time there. I thought the place was very nice and relaxing. The music fit the ambient perfectly. Sitting outdoors, looking at the stars (sometimes they can be seen down in Florida, you just have to try hard enough), and listening to quite a few good bands play made my friday night one to remember.

Iron Maiden
On April 2nd, 2009, for the first time in thirteen years, metal legends Iron Maiden will be performing in only one place in the whole United States. This place is none other than the Bank Atlantic center, and I am the lucky owner of a ticket to see them. Only three days after the tickets went on sale is when I purchased mine, and I still got one of the last in the very last row. This is not a problem to me, however. Seeing this band means so much to me that I am prepared to see the show from whatever angle I am given. If anybody happens to have tickets way in the back like me, feel free to let me know and maybe we can watch the show together, since I am going by myself.
Dr.Dog
This weekend I will be attending a concert of a band that I don't know much about, but sounds good from what I have heard. The ticket was cheap, it's close, and I am trying to be a little more open to new music. I am not very open to bands from now a days, but I did listen to a bit of Dr.Dog and they sounded pretty good. To me they sounded like a band from today with the sounds of a band from yesterday (yesterday being a few decades ago). If you listen to this band or know what they sound like, why don't you tell me your opinion on them or maybe some songs to listen to by them. Thank you.

Where is Mr.T
It has been a while since we have seen Tadeu Carabias, and we had no idea why, until a thought hit me. Tadeu drives a car with a giant hole on the bottom, and I cant think of any other reason for his disappearance than the fact that he fell through that hole as the car was in motion, and was never seen again. So far, since I'm the only one who has come up with a reason, I would say I am right. If anyone has a better reason why we have not seen him. Please do inform me.
School cafeteria food
I cannot begin to count how many times I have heard kids nag about the school cafeteria's food. It may not be fancy, but for something that only costs 2.25, this food is amazing. The wraps with the right dressing are great. They are made with good quality ingredients. Everything is except maybe the pizza and the burgers. The spaghetti tastes just like any fancy spaghetti I have had. The milk is never expired. Everything is fresh, and people still have the nerve to say the food is nasty when half of them have never tried it. Had to write this real quick so I would not forget the idea. Bye

it's an epidemic
I simply ask why do 85% of girls feel like they are proffesional photographer. They have an album on their myspace or facebook, in which they have one thousand close ups of flowers and stuff that looks good with a high definition camera. No offense but it is not very hard to zoom into a clover and set the camera to AV mode or whatever that is. I give props to sports photographers who catch a photo of a baseball as it hits the bat, or my personal favorite, skateboarding photographers catching the skater in he air. Anyways, thats my blog.

it's a sport again!
I am very happy to say that skateboarding is on its way back to being a sport, and not a Ryan Sheckler lookalike contest. For a very long time, the image of skateboarding was corrupted, and people began to wear what they believed were "skateboarding clothes," and having a so called skateboarder image, and occasionally skated if girls were watching. Not only did 99.9% of these people sucked, but they gave skateboarding a bad name. However, people are not trying to look like skateboarders anymore. The people who do it actually enjoy the sport and skate something other than flat ground. They do it for the sport, and not for the girls or popularity. Yay!
